Robb Brent Returns to ARCA Racing Series Competition: Michigan-native Robb Brent will return to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards this weekend racing under the Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) banner for the first time in his career. Thanks to primary sponsor, AutoDealAds.com, the 24- year-old will step back into competition at Michigan, piloting the No. 2 Toyota Camry for Sharp; a number that is arguably one of the most prestigious in series history. The same team also ran with championship contender Craig Goess under the No. 81 distinction in 2010.
Though Robb hasn't seen ARCA Racing Series competition yet in 2011, he had a successful campaign in 2010; scoring his first career win at Pocono Raceway, as well as three top-five and eight top-10 finishes. In his prior four appearances at Michigan, he has a best start of fifth in 2008, and has yet to finish worse than 16th. Crew chief Dave Leiner will reunite with Brent this weekend, after working with him full-time last season at Allgaier Motorsports.
Brent Spreading Awareness for Charity: Conjunctively with primary sponsor AutoDealAds.com, two of Robb Brent's favorite charity organizations will also ride on the No. 2 Toyota Camry in the RainEater Wiper Blades 200. Run entirely by volunteers, the Macomb Charitable Foundation (MCF) is a non-profit organization based in Macomb, Michigan. MCF reaches out to children in the Macomb County community who are homeless or living below the poverty level, providing them with necessities such as food, clothing, and personal care items, among others.
Along with MCF, Brent avidly supports and will sport the colors of the Animal Aid Foundation, a non-profit, no-kill organization whose mission is to support the activities of local animal charities. The volunteer-based foundation also assists in the search for finding lifelong homes for the animals they support.
Robb Brent on Michigan: "Michigan was an obvious choice for one of the two races we chose to initially sign up for with Eddie Sharp Racing, not only because it's where I'm from, but because I know we can be competitive there. It's a very wide track, so it provides some great racing not only for the fans, but the competitors too."
Owner Eddie Sharp on Michigan: "Our team history proves that we're more than capable of bringing multiple cars to the racetrack and performing at the highest level and Michigan is no different for us this weekend. It's Robb's hometown track, and we've done everything on our end to make sure that he has a fast racecar capable of helping him get to victory lane at the end of 200 miles. "
Chassis Information: Robb Brent will pilot ESR chassis no. 107 at Michigan, one of the most successful chassis in the ESR shop. Most notably, it carried 2009 ARCA Champion Justin Lofton to victory lane several times in his career at Eddie Sharp Racing.
