ABOUT EDDIE SHARP RACING

Located in the Charlotte, NC suburb of Denver, Eddie Sharp Racing has proven to be a successful avenue of driver development, and is considered among the most elite teams in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Drivers from Eddie Sharp Racing's ARCA program have quickly advanced to the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series, two of the highest rated motorsport series in the world.

In 2008, ESR will field 3 ARCA RE/MAX Series entries and a NASCAR Camping World Series entry. Piloting the No. 2 Red Bull Toyota Camry in the ARCA RE/MAX Series is former F1 driver Scott Speed. Returning for his first full season in the ARS, Ken Butler, III is behind the wheel of the No. 22 ESR Toyota Camry. Driving the No. 2 in the NASCAR Camping World Series is Craig Goess. Joining these full-time ESR drivers will be a rotating cast in the newest addition to the family, the No. 20 ESR entry in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

The most apparent example of the success of the ESR program is their 2007 statistics. Between the team's two racecars (2, 22), the ESR team of Michael McDowell, Josh Wise, and Ken Butler III scored five wins, ten pole positions, and an incredible 24 top-ten finishes. In this single season, Eddie Sharp Racing's drivers won 22% of the season's races, sitting on the pole for an impressive 43% of the season.

Michael McDowell is the ideal model of the developmental accomplishments of an Eddie Sharp Racing driver. In 2007, his first full season of stock car racing, Michael won four races, nine poles, and led the most laps of the season, earning Rookie of the Year honors and finishing second in the championship point standings behind 8-time champion Frank Kimmel. In addition, McDowell brought home the Stewart Warner Lap Leader Award (most laps led in the series) and five Holley Halfway Leader Awards. This exceptional season under the development of Eddie Sharp Racing led to McDowell's NASCAR Nationwide Series debut, and in 2008 Michael will pilot the No. 00 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Camry for Michael Waltrip Racing.

Eddie Sharp Racing continues the tradition of developing talent in 2008 by pairing talented drivers such as Scott Speed and Ken Butler III with experienced crew chiefs Patrick Donahue and Wayne Carroll in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. With Championship aspirations, ESR aggressively continues to set the standards for developing the racing talent of the future.
