DOVER, DE (September 22, 2008) - Craig Goess and his Greenville-Toyota team rallied from their 24th starting position in Friday's Sunoco 150 to finish an impressive 11th in their first appearance at Dover International Speedway.
"I loved the track," said Goess. "It's a fast track with great banking. Definitely my kind of place! I learned a lot this weekend and I know that if we went back there, we would definitely be a threat!"
Despite a strong practice, Goess qualified the Greenville-Toyota Camry in the 24th starting position with a 146.199 mph lap. Goess quickly made up the track position when the green flag dropped, climbing ten spots to 14th in only 22 laps.
"It's hard to believe that the season is almost over..." |

Goess was knocking on the door of the top-10 by lap 50. The No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Camry was strong under long green runs. The "Big One" occurred on lap 67, nearly collecting Goess. The Eddie Sharp Racing driver escaped the carnage and restarted the race in the tenth position. Goess remained in the top-10, running as high as seventh, until the closing laps. With a transmission that was not stellar on restarts, the No. 2 slid back to 11th following a late-race caution and Goess took the checkered flag earning his seventh top-15 finish of the season.

"I learned a lot this weekend about air and its effects on the car," commented Goess. "It was a lot of fun to play with that and see the difference in the handling as I would position myself near other cars. The car was a lot of fun to drive. The team worked really hard to stabilize the car and correct the travel that they weren't originally expecting. The body of the car was awesome. I think with the data we have now on the car and the track, we can come back ten times better."
"It's hard to believe that the season is almost over," added Goess. "I feel like I've learned a lot since the beginning of the year. As a driver, I try to go into each race and learn everything I can, no matter if it is my first or my 100th race. I feel this year that I have grown as a driver and that we have grown as a team."

DENVER, N.C. (September 18, 2008) - Eddie Sharp Racing's Craig Goess and his Greenville Toyota team hit the Monster Mile this weekend for the Sunoco 150. This weekend will be Goess' first visit to the 1.0-mile concrete oval.
"It's hard to believe that the season is almost over," said Goess. "I think we will do really well this weekend at Dover. My guys worked hard this week to turn the Greenville Toyota Camry around after Loudon. We had good momentum going into New Hampshire and stumbled a little there. I'm confident we'll get it back this weekend at the Monster Mile."
Last weekend Goess qualified 12th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Goess wheeled the No. 2 Greenville Toyota Camry to a 13th-place finish in the Heluva Good! Fall 125.
"We were definitely lucky to get 13th," commented Goess. "I was decent in qualifying, but in race trim, it just was off. We just struggled on the flat track. I'm looking forward to heading to Dover this week and running on a track with more banking."
