GOESS SCORES TOP-15 AT ADIRONDACK
Lowville, N.Y. (July 26, 2008) – Eddie Sharp Racing’s Craig Goess and his Greenville-Toyota team traveled to Upstate New York this weekend for the “EDGE HOTEL 150" presented by Casella Waste Systems at Adirondack International Speedway. Despite having to restart on the outside and an untimely spin at the end of the race, the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Toyota was one of the few cars able to make passes on the 0.5-mile short track. Goess came home in the 14th position with a car and driver that was worthy of much a better position.
“We had a really good car today but just bad luck on the restarts,” said Goess. “We always managed to climb to the eighth position and then a caution would come out, forcing us to restart on the outside. At this track there just is not a whole lot you can do on the outside so we always lost positions and then had to fight our way back up. By the time we got there, another caution. This car was much better than a 14th place car, but that’s just where the chips fell this weekend.”
Taking the Lowville, New York short track for the first time, Goess reported that there was little front grip and the No. 2 car was not turning well. The Greenville-Toyota team worked diligently to make adjustments and with a much better handling car, Goess logged lap after lap, becoming increasingly confident on the short track.
Goess qualified the Greenville-Toyota Toyota in the 15th starting position with a lap time of 16.957 seconds (106.151 mph). A mere 0.488 seconds separated the pole position time from Goess.
“After practice I knew we had a solid car for the race,” said Goess. “I had hoped to put the Greenville-Toyota Camry a little closer to the front, but we were happy with the progress that was made all day. The guys did a fantastic job during the two-hour practice session to get the car set up adjusted.”
Despite the showers that delayed qualifying from completing on time, the green flag for the New York for the Edge Hotel 150 still waved on schedule. Twenty minutes and 24 laps later, the red flag was brought out for rain. Cars were parked and covered on the outside of pit road as everyone scrambled for cover. One hour later, engines were re-fired and cars circled the track under caution. On lap 38 the green flag was waved once again and the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Toyota restarted the race in the 17th position.

On a track where passing is difficult, Goess continued to pick cars off one by one. Goess moved up back up into to the top 15 quickly. By lap 104, Goess was knocking on the door of the tenth position, and by the seventh caution of the day on lap 110, Goess was running eighth. Forced to restart on the outside yet again, Goess was shuffled backwards. The outside line was not the place to be on the 0.5-mile track.
The eighth caution of the day at lap 119. Goess checked up to avoid the melee occurring in front of him and was tagged from behind, sending the Camry into a spin. The No. 2 car did not have major damage and remained on the track, restarting tenth and in the outside line, again.
Goess battled in the final laps to regain lost positions from restarts and a spin again with only six laps remaining. Without enough time left, the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota team settled for a 14th-place finish. Goess and his teammates left smiling as they knew the car was much better than 14th and that they had a very successful weekend at Adirondack Speedway.
“I am not sure what happened during the rain delay,” commented Crew Chief Johnny Allen with a grin, “but it was an entirely different Craig that climbed back into that car. He did just a phenomenal job driving today! Craig passed more cars than anyone out there. He drove hard, confident, and just did a great job staying up on the wheel.”

Goess 21st Fastest in Practice; Starts race from 15th
Beaver Falls, NY. (July 25, 2008) – The last five minutes of practice were cut short by a passing rain shower. Craig Goess and the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Toyota will start the "EDGE HOTEL 150" presented by Casella Waste System from the 15th position on the grid tonight at Adirondack International Speedway.

Goess Looks to Carry Momentum to this Weekend
Beaver Falls, NY. (July 25, 2008) – On the heels of his career-best finish in the NASCAR Camping World Series, Craig Goess heads north to Adirondack International Speedway for the "EDGE HOTEL 150" presented by Casella Waste Systems. With six events remaining in the season, the driver of the No. 2 Greenville-Toyota Toyota is hitting his rhythm and is ready for another weekend of Saturday Night short-track racing.

"It was great to leave Nashville so satisfied with our run," said Goess. "I am looking forward to climbing back in that car this weekend. I think we are carrying some momentum now and hope that this weekend we will continue that consistency and qualify and finish up front."
This is the first visit to Adirondack International Speedway for both Craig Goess and Crew Chief Johnny Allen. The team is excited to head to Upstate New York following their first top-10 finish of the 2008 season.
"We are really looking forward to going to Adirondack this weekend," said Allen. "We had a great weekend in Nashville. We changed the set-up and learned a lot that we think will transfer over well. The tracks couldn’t be more different, but I think this is a track that Craig will really sink his teeth into."
The "EDGE HOTEL 150" presented by Casella Waste Systems is a one-day event at Adirondack International Speedway that begins with practice on Saturday, July 26,, 2008 from 12:15 until 2:15 p.m. Qualifying follows at 4:15 p.m. Thirty cars will roll off to start the race Saturday at 6:30 p.m. All times are EASTERN. The race will be broadcast LIVE on HDNet and tape delayed on SPEED on August 6th at 12:00 p.m. ET. |

The starting field is 30 cars, including provisionals. Starting positions 1-26 will be determined by time trials. The four remaining spots will be determined through the provisional process. The race is scheduled for 150-laps (75 miles).
