On April 14th, 2009 Matt Daniel came to work at Eddie Sharp Racing and half way through the day the tips of his fingers and toes started to go numb. He went to the doctor to simply get checked out and has been in the ICU since. Matt was then diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrom, which is an uncommon inflammatory disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerves, typically causing severe weakness and numbness that usually starts in your extremities and quickly worsens. Eventually your whole body can become paralyzed, even the muscles used for breathing. The exact cause of Guillain-Barre syndrome is unknown, but it sometimes is triggered by a respiratory infection or the stomach flu. There is no cure for the disorder, but several treatments can ease symptoms and reduce the duration of the illness.

Matt is currently at Northeast Medical Center in Concord, NC where he is still on a ventilator  in ICU.  His state has not changed since he was admitted in April. After Matt is released his fight will not be over as he will have months of Physical Rehab to gain the strength to walk again.

Matt has a wife, Kandace and a beautiful 2 year old girl named Allyson that need our help.

Trina Arpin, wife of ARCA RE/MAX driver Steve Arpin and a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, has 31 NWTF Special Edition guns that will be raffled off during the month of August.  A gun a day will be given away starting August 1, 2009 until August 31, 2009.

Tickets are $10 each. 

Five dollars will be donated to the National Wild Turkey Federation. The NWTF is a non-profit conservation and hunting organization that works to protect the wild turkey population, give youth the chance to explore the outdoors (JAKE’S), helps people with disabilities enjoy outdoor activities(Wheelin' Sportsmen),help bring women with a love for the outdoors together(Women in the outdoors) and work to protect our natural resources and the outdoor heritage we treasure.

The other Five dollars will be donated to the Family of Matt Daniels to help with the Medical Bills or household bills that they have incurred.
All tickets must be purchased by July 23, 2009.

Winners must provide FFL dealership to address & pass all applicable BATF background checks & pay all firearm transaction fees. You must be 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States to purchase a ticket.
