Denver, NC. (February 27, 2008) - Craig Goess knows a Legends car inside and out. He knows how to get it around a race track and around those cars in front of him. This season, however, Goess will be turning a slightly larger car around the ovals. In preparation for his rookie season in the NASCAR Camping World Series East, Goess spent the day at Caraway Speedway with his Eddie Sharp Racing team.

"It was a lot of fun today," stated Goess. "[It was] fun getting acclimated with the car and with Randy, figuring out what we both like. We worked on a little bit of everything today. I was lucky to be in the car today in this cold. I really appreciate the guys being out here today in this wind."

"I'm really looking forward to testing next month and getting out on a bigger track and actually trying the cars that all these guys have been working so hard to build, OUR cars for this season, and seeing how they run. This car today was a generic ESR Team test car and it was great for our work today but I'm looking forward to getting into one of my cars, too."

Goess ran consistent and aggressive laps throughout the chilly and windy afternoon. Crew Chief Randy Nelson was very pleased with the test and his driver.

"Craig did a really good job today," commented Nelson. "It is very encouraging to see his progress today in just this short time. The consistency with his times was very good. We'll get him in our cars and work on his speed and I think we're going to have a good year."

When asked what the biggest difference he felt today between the Legends car and the stock car, Goess replied, "I would have to say the weight and trying to stop it. Just having the feeling of something three-times the size around you because it isn't quite as nimble as the smaller [Legends] car is. But on the flip side, I have a lot more tire than I am used to as well. With both cars, it's the same basic principle, make it go as fast as possible and turn well. I was very comfortable today. Randy did an awesome job getting the car set up for me. We ran 150 to 160 laps today and I was comfortable all day."

Goess will make his first NASCAR Camping World Series East start at Greenville-Pickens Speedway on April 19th in the No. 2 Greenville Toyota Dealership Toyota.

Speed on Truckin':

"Every time I'm in the car I'm learning something. It's a lot more helpful for me to drive the races because for me to get into a truck or Cup car and go fast by myself has been really easy. It's been easier than I thought, to be honest. What's difficult and what I'm learning a lot about is how the other cars around you affect your car."

"The reason we went this route is because the truck is the most similar to the COT and it is very sensitive to the other cars around you, where they are and what they're doing to your car. This is kind of the method behind our madness here"
