"It is an awesome experience to visit Thomasville Children's Home," said McDowell. "We had a lot of fun interacting with all the kids".
McDowell, along with ARCA RE/MAX Series Chaplain Bill Krick, gave an inspirational speech to a group of over 75 children. A question and answer session followed, as well as autographs and photo opportunities.
"Teaming up with Bill Krick of Focus Motorsports Ministries is a pleasure," said McDowell. "His drive and ministry is very important to the ARCA RE/MAX Series". |
Focus Motorsports Ministries has planned many more youth related outreach activities for 2007, including trips to go-kart tracks and even honorary youth pit crew members. Krick, ARCA RE/MAX Series Chaplain for over 10 years, cites the positive nature of motorsports as having a long lasting effect on children.
Positive role models are vital to a child's success," said Krick. "Having Michael at Thomasville Children's Home gives these kids not only someone to relate to, but someone to look up to as well".
